   Lighting Designer/Lighting Director/Production Manager

From 1978 through the early 90's Woody toured the globe and worked on location lighting and managing live concert productions, including lighting several live televised concert productions in Italy, Germany and France. The musicians have included Joe Perry, Meat Loaf, Bill Bruford, Iron Maiden, Allan Holdsworth, Ratt, Ace Frehley, Cinderella, Eddie Jobson, Quiet Riot, John Wetton, Skid Row, LA Guns and many more.



Promotional Interviews
  Producer and Camera Operator

Woody has produced and shot dozens of promotional interviews for record companies, management and public relations firms. The artists have included Willie Nelson, Stephen Stills, Bare Naked Ladies, Fear Factory, Jonathan Mover, Ian McDonald, Spine Shank, Ill Nino, Sepultura, Chimara, and Dry Kill Logic.


Aftermath
 

  HD Camera Operator - VH1 TV Special

Aftermath is a one hour special about the victims, survivers and family's of the of the 2003 RI Station Nightclub tragedy,  the special also features performances from the 2008 benefit concert.

Beg is a horror film and stars Tony Moran as detective Jack Fox, Debbie Rochon as the witch and PJ Soles as Jack's loving and confused wife.


Wisdom of the Eighties

Written by Candy Fox, Directed by Woody Bavota and funded by The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, Wisdom of the Eighties follows the lives of six woman artists that are in their eighties and ninties. 2007 Woods Hole Film Festival Official Selection

Bill Bruford's Earthworks
    Producer - Concert Film  

Now you can absorb the whole Earthworks experience with this 1 hour 50 minutes of concert footage, and 20 minutes of exclusive backstage interviews on this unique DVD and enjoy an intimate, up-close evening of state-of-the-art jazz at The Bottom Line in New York City. Bill Bruford who began his career with the groups Yes and King Crimson personifies the art of the drummer, and his group Earthworks "cast new light on the jazz quartet format" . The Black Velvet Pants music video was filmed over a three day period at the Strand Theater in Boston.



I Gotta Rock
 

  Director - Documentary 

I Gotta Rock is a short documentary that follows the 70's clasic rock band "Thundertrain" as they find their way out of the suburbs and onto the gritty stages of CBGB's and Max's Kansas City. By the mid seventies Thundertrain were on their way to national headliner status when they collided head on with the punk rock explosion that sent them spiraling into obscurity. 2006 New York Short Film Festival Official Selection



Entropy
  Producer - Comedy Short

Directed by Nathan Ehrlich and Produced by Woody Bavota, Entropy is a comedy short that was filmed on location in Boston during the month of November 2006. The editing and mastering have been completed in the Escape TV studio.

Gongzilla
    Producer/Director/Camera Operator - Concert Film 

An offshoot of the classic jazz outfit Gong, Gongzilla includes former Gong members Bon Lozaga, Hansford Rowe, and Benoit Moerlen. Special guests are Chuck Garvey from Moe, as well as jazz-rock legend Gary Husband, who rocks out with a four-minute drum solo as a special treat. Additional footage of Gongzilla at work on their East Village Sessions CD in Dangerous Studio, provides yet another view of this innovative jazz jam band. Communicator and Aegis Awards

The Ride
  Production Coordinator - Narrative


Director Brian Ide of of the California film company Meriwether Productions hired Woody to be the Production Coordinator for his film The Ride. The film follows the late night ride of Paul Revere and was filmed in Boston.


FirstJason
  Director - Music Video

Woody directed Ari Lehman in the FirstJason music video RED RED RED. The video includes a Jason killer fantasy and live footage from FirstJason's 2007 tour. Ari is best known as the first person to portray Jason Voorhees in the film Friday the 13th. Although he was not the killer in the film and only appeared for a brief moment at the end, his cameo is considered one of the scariest and most memorable scenes in the horror film genre.

Can Can
  Associate Producer - Narrative

Directed by Lulu Wang and Woody Bavota was an associate-producer, Can Can is a bittersweet story about marriage and infidelity, devotion and guilt. As David leaves his wife Helen at home to go to another woman, Helen does something completely unexpected--she begins to dance.


TriPod
    Producer and Director - Concert Film

TriPod concert film that  features their first live performance from 2003 in Boston, and includes their 2004 NYC shows, the 2005 Baja Festival in Mexico and their 2008 shows throughout Europe.


Live from the Comedy Connection
    Producer/Director/Camera Operator - Stand-Up Comedy

Stand-Up comedy series live from the Comedy Connection in Boston that featured Tony V, Frank Santorelli, Dj Hazard and Paul Nardizzi.

Keeper of the Burnt Light
    Director - Documentary

Keeper of the Burnt Light is a feature documentary that follows Keeper Jim Buotte who worked on Burnt Island Lighthouse from 1955 through 1958. Keeper Jim fills your imagination with what it was truly like to be a Keeper prior to electrification, with stories of shipwrecks and even a ghost tale or two. Director of Marine Eduacation for the State of Maine Elaine Jones brings to you the history of the island complete with vintage photographs and architectural drawings.
